Location and Getting Here

Our campus is easily accessible whether you are travelling to us by car, bike or public transport.

The QMU campus is situated to the east of Edinburgh city centre, by Musselburgh. Although vehicular access is only from the A1, pedestrian access is available via Whitehill Farm Road or N1 cycle path from Newcraighall.

The campus is designed to meet the highest standards of sustainability and we have a green travel policy in place. We encourage staff, students and visitors to utilise public transport, walk or cycle and we operate a needs-based parking policy for staff and students, which means that those who have a genuine need, such as care of small children, will receive a parking permit in preference to others.

Various travel options are available, including walking, bus, train, cycling as set out below. If you are a visitor to QMU and need to travel by car, please ask your contact within the university to arrange parking permission, and give them your vehicle registration number. If you need more information on our green travel plan or parking policy, please contact our campus services department.
